New N$90 million salt processing plant for Walvis Bay

The Walvis Bay Salt Holdings opened a new N$ 93.6 million salt processing plant targeting the international market. The key note address was delivered by the Minister of Trade, SME Development and Industrilisation, Honourable Tjekero Tweya.

The capital investment of more than N$93.6 million in a new salt processing plant ensures that Walvis Bay Salt Refiners can now target international markets. Minister of Trade, SME Development and Industrialisation, Tjekero Tweya applauded WBSH on innovation and focusing on exporting Namibian products to the international market recently at the plant inauguration. “They are a trusted company with intentions to enhance local value additions in support of the Growth at Home strategy”. He further added that we have a collective duty to expedite any effort of industrialisation, trade and small and medium enterprise development with speed of execution across all sectors of the economy to extract maximum returns in favour of GDP. “We must support all Namibia initiatives because this is the right thing to do”, he said.

Alderman Immanuel Wilfried, Mayor of Walvis Bay thanked Hon. Tjekero Tweya, Minister of Trade, SME Development and Industrialisation, for his support in helping to make Namibia reach its developmental goals. “Without the support of your good office we would not have seen developments such as these coming to life in record time,” he said.
