Christmas came early for the elderly

The handover of Christmas hampers for our senior citizens was a joyous occasion. 1300 parcels of food items were distributed and Alderman Immanuel Wilfried said that “This annual event receives priority through our Mayoral Relief Fund and is important to us. Every year, this event gives us the opportunity to honour and thank you, our mothers, fathers and grandparents. Although this occasion is mainly about spoiling you it also serves as an opportunity for all seniors to mingle and reunite with old friends. In the true spirit of Christmas, we are simply here to enjoy each other’s company.”
