Dunes of the Namib Desert

The Namib Desert is not only the oldest but also has some of the highest dunes in the world. Here different hues, shapes and types of and dunes all sprawl into the Atlantic ocean, creating some of the most spectacular sights.

One of the most popular places to visit is Sandwich harbour with its abundance of bird and marine life, while the haunting pans and dunes of Dead Vlei have been used in the motion picture The Cell.
