- PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- To handle road building and earth-moving machines with purpose of construction and maintaining the gravel roads in the Walvis Bay municipal area, as well as activities involved in the dune stabilization process. The sweeping of streets with the street sweeping machine may also be the incumbent's task.
Key performance areas:
- Maintain gravel roads.
- Construct gravel roads.
- Dune stabilization.
- Sand removal.
- Maintenance on machines.
- Supervises.
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 (min. 25 points).
- Code C driver's license.
- At least 1 year experience.

Key performance areas:
- Drives daily and takes care of the tanker or roller.
- Executes tasks given by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Grade 8
- Code C1 drivers license
- Must be literate.
- Health and safety regulation training

DEPARTMENT OF WATER, WASTE & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: SECTION WATER & LIQUID WASTE
ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER
(PATTERSON GRADE LEVEL B3)
- PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring fieldwork and implementation of relevant municipal environmental management policies, plans and programmes to ensure sustainable development in the Walvis Bay jurisdictional area to the benefit of all residents.
Key performance areas:
- Implements established policies, plans and programmes regarding sustainable developing of resources.
- Carries out Council's activities regarding disaster emergency contingency plans.
- Inspects developments and recreational activities within the Walvis Bay environs in terms of Council approved management plans and EIA's recommendations.
- Performs peace keeping activities with regard to sustainable development.
- Liaises and communicate with all relevant regional stakeholders concerning environmental related matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Gr 12 (25 points) + 1 Year National Environmental Certificate and
2 years environmental experience
- Ideal: 3 Years Environmental National Diploma and 3 years environmental
experience
- Code B Drivers License
