{"id":1566,"date":"2023-06-23T10:43:34","date_gmt":"2023-06-23T10:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.walvisbaycc.org.na\/?p=1566"},"modified":"2023-06-27T10:47:15","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T10:47:15","slug":"n6-4-million-written-off-on-interest-amnesty-since-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.walvisbaycc.org.na\/?p=1566","title":{"rendered":"N$6.4 MILLION WRITTEN OFF ON INTEREST AMNESTY SINCE 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"xdj266r x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">During the last council meeting, Chairperson of the Management Committee, Cllr Richard Hoaeb, announced that a total of N$6.4 million was written off against the settlement of capital balance of N$31 million from the time it was introduced in 2014.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The interest amnesty was introduced with the aim to assist customers who are struggling to settle their municipal bills.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The interest amnesty exercise is NOT aimed at writing off the capital debt of customers but merely aimed at having the interest accrued to such capital pardoned whenever the capital debt is settled in full or partially within the amnesty period.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The interest amnesty period for the current financial year is currently open and will lapse on 30 June 2023.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the last council meeting, Chairperson of the Management Committee, Cllr Richard Hoaeb, announced that a total of N$6.4 million was written off against the settlement of capital balance of N$31 million from the time it was introduced in 2014.
