These meetings provided residents with an opportunity to engage directly with <span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">council members<\/span> and raise concerns affecting their communities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In addition to fostering dialogue, the meetings also served as a platform for residents to contribute input towards the Municipality\u2019s 2026\/2027 budget.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Opening the final session, the Mayor Cllr, Johannes Shimbilinga welcomed attendees but expressed disappointment at the low turnout. Addressing service delivery matters, the Mayor highlighted growing challenges in Kuisebmond and their impact daily life. While acknowledging the town\u2019s ageing infrastructure, the Mayor assured residents that these issues are being addressed by through various ongoing interventions, which were outlined during the meeting.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Mayor also raised concern about certain behaviours within the community, including littering, public urination, and land grabbing. He called on residents to refrain from unlawful activities and disorderly activities and instead take personal responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Furthermore, the Mayor pointed to the increasing influx of people into the town in search of economic opportunities, noting the added pressure this places on municipal services and land availability. \u201cWe are committed to listening to your concerns and addressing them, but we also need your cooperation,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Residents were given the opportunity to raise their concerns, which included the alienation of Tutaleni houses, police visibility, safety and disaster management, illegal vendors, tyre burning at the dumpsite, and the enforcement of municipal by-laws, among others. Where possible, immediate feedback and clarification were provided by municipal managers present at the meetings, ensuring that residents received direct responses to their queries.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Members of management also briefed attendees on current municipal projects, as well as the challenges being experienced.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Erongo Regional Police Commissioner, Nikolaus Kupembona, was also present at with his team of law enforcement officers to address community concerns related to safety and security.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"html-span xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xat24cr xm2jcoa x1mpyi22 xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"xz74otr x15mokao x1ga7v0g x16uus16 xbiv7yw\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t51\/1\/16\/1f449.png\" alt=\"&#x1f449;\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/span>Residents are once again encouraged to actively participate in community engagement initiatives to ensure their voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first series of public engagement meetings concluded in Kuisebmond, marking the end of a town-wide initiative that commenced on 9 March.
