Purpose of the Job

(PATERSON GRADE LEVEL E3)

To plan, direct, control and administer the affairs of the Department by formulating the vision of Council with regard to Water, Waste, Environmental Management and Health into policies, strategies and action plans which ensure the provision of water to the town, contribute to the prevention of overall health hazards to the residents of the town, and to the sustainability of the town’s fragile environment. To advise management and council with regard to water, waste, environmental management and health strategies and operations. To oversee the functions of the environmental health division.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational QualificationB. Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (NQA level 8).An MBA degree (NQA level 9) will be an advantage.
Minimum Experience Required8 years post professional registration in an engineering position with at least 5 years’ experience thereof on a senior professional and Managerial role.Experience in municipal engineering services will be an added advantage.
Special RequirementRegistered as a Professional Engineer with the relevant Engineering Council of Namibia.Driving Licence Code B
