Old plastic bins replaced with concrete bins

Posted: 1 Oct 2021

The Solid waste section recently acquired over 123 concrete bins that replaced the aged plastic bins located at the lagoon promenade. Some of these bins will also be placed at strategic areas around Walvis Bay to help curb littering around the town. The bins, which are expected to last longer than the plastic bins cost council N$80,000.00.
According to Peter Etsebeth from the Solid Waste Section, vandals continue to target structures erected by council “I would like to appeal to the residents to refrain from vandalising the bins. One of the new bins we placed in Narraville was destroyed the next day,” he said.
