The 18th Erongo Business and Tourism Expo 2026 is officially underway at the Walvis Bay Civic Centre, bringing together 175 exhibitors from Namibia and beyond under the inspiring theme, “Fuelling Namibia’s Future through Innovation, Energy and Sustainable Growth.” The four-day event is backed by the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport), which has become the Expo’s main and naming sponsor for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 editions.
In his welcoming remarks, the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Cllr Johannes Shimbilinga, celebrated the Expo’s remarkable growth from its humble beginnings into one of the Erongo Region’s leading platforms for business, tourism and economic development. He highlighted how this year’s theme reflects Namibia’s evolving economic landscape, with opportunities emerging in renewable energy, technology, tourism, oil and gas, and sustainable development.
The Mayor encouraged exhibitors and visitors to make the most of the Expo by exploring the exhibitions, participating in discussions and building partnerships that could unlock new business opportunities, stimulate local enterprise and contribute to job creation.
He also expressed his appreciation to the organisers, exhibitors, sponsors and all those whose continued support has contributed to the Expo’s growth and success.
A highlight of the official opening was the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by His Worship, Mayor Cllr Johannes Shimbilinga, accompanied by H.E. Florence C. Bore, EGH, Commissioner of the Embassy of Kenya in Namibia, and Honourable Natalia /Goagoses, Governor of the Erongo Region, symbolically declaring the Expo open.
Namport’s three-year naming partnership is expected to strengthen the Expo’s reach and impact by connecting Namibian businesses with regional and international markets, while expanding opportunities for trade, tourism, investment and commercial partnerships.
The Municipality of Walvis Bay is also exhibiting at this year’s Expo, offering visitors a convenient point of access to municipal services and information. Visitors are invited to stop by the municipal stall for assistance with municipal accounts, land acquisition and business registration, as well as information on the town’s tourism attractions and opportunities.
With 175 exhibitors showcasing their products, services and innovations, the Expo offers an exciting opportunity to discover what local businesses and industries have to offer, exchange ideas and build connections that can extend well beyond the event.
We wish all exhibitors and visitors a successful, productive and inspiring 18th Erongo Business and Tourism Expo 2026.
